"When it rains it pours," says our Chair Sarah Doucette. It was a busy spring for our zookeepers. On April 22, two Mouflon lambs were born at the Zoo. What are their names? Well, here's your opportunity to tell us!
Please choose from a set of five names:
Spark and Ember
Lupin and Tansy
Oriole and Flicker
Hayley and Miranda
Lily and Clover.
Voting closes on July 20, and the winning names will be announced by July 25.
On Wednesday, July 16 a portion of all ticket sales from the Canadian Stage's Dream in High Park preview performance of Romeo and Juliet will help support FHPZ.
The play starts at 8 pm, but the gates will be open at 6 pm for those looking to picnic prior to the show.
Friends of High Park Zoo will be on hand with literature, adventure games and free colouring books. Just a reminder that the Zoo is open until 7 pm.
FHPZ is grateful to Canadian Stage for their generous donation. Come out and support Canadian Stage and Friends of High Park. The Dream in High Park is one of Toronto's favourite tradition and makes for a great date night.

We've got a brand spanking new Highland calf at the Zoo. And she is sooo cute. After a very active naming contest, her official name is Molly McMoo.
Many thanks for the more than 550 people who responded. It was a close race, with Molly McMoo getting 43 per cent of votes. Poppy came in second and Winnie in third. They are all great names, but we think Molly McMoo is perfect ❤️.

It’s been feeding frenzy at the llama pen in High Park Zoo. Families from around the GTA and even Montreal were on hand recently to get close to and hand feed the llamas. The Zoo is open every day, year round. The cost is just $2 to feed the llamas on weekends and holidays between noon and 2 pm. There’s colouring and a touch table and a few Zoo goodies are available too! The llama feeding is generously funded by Friends of High Park Zoo.

Wool made from the fleece of the High Park Zoo llamas will be going on sale. We've got a few dozen skeins of llama wool, mixed with merino or sheep's wool. Each skein is 100 grams (or 175 yards) of three-ply worsted weight, which is enough to knit a pair of mittens, a hat or a toasty scarf. Skeins reflect the colour of the llama in shades of tan, brown and grey from Jet, Stardust, Honey, Limia, Arianna, Jazz, Tango, Chiquita and Luna.
The price per skein is $50 for 3 ply worsted weight 100 grams, 175 yards. Funds will go toward FHPZ's Master Plan to make necessary improvements to our 130-year old Zoo.
To purchase llama wool please contact events@highparkzoo.ca.
